CLIENT CONTEXT

Why this project mattered.

Urbanity operates in Kampala's growing luxury streetwear market, stocking premium brands like Balenciaga, Dior, Louis Vuitton, Prada, and Jordan.

The brand needed a digital presence that matched the caliber of the products it carries, from product presentation to checkout flow.

This project mattered because luxury buyers compare quickly online. If the store feels generic or hard to navigate, the sale moves to social DMs or competitors.

PROBLEM

What was not working.

The existing presentation did not reflect the premium nature of the brands carried.

Product discovery across multiple luxury brands and categories needed structure without feeling cluttered.

Buyers needed confidence in authenticity, pricing, and availability before committing to high-value purchases.

GOALS

What success needed to mean.

Create a storefront that feels as premium as the products it carries.

Make browsing across brands, categories, and price points fast and intuitive.

Build trust through brand presentation, product detail, and clear purchase pathways.

Support both impulse discovery and intentional shopping behaviors.

SOLUTION

What we built.

The solution had to be practical, usable, and aligned with the real business pressure behind the project.

Brand-forward storefront

We designed the experience around strong product imagery, clean typography, and premium pacing so the store feels curated rather than catalog-driven.

Multi-brand product discovery

The browsing structure supports gender filtering, brand categories, featured collections, and search so shoppers can move from inspiration to product quickly.

Luxury commerce flow

Product pages emphasize authenticity, detail, and pricing clarity while supporting wishlist, cart, and direct purchase actions.

EXECUTION

How the work moved.

A stronger outcome comes from a stronger process, not from improvising the whole thing in code.

01

Discovery

Mapped how luxury footwear shoppers browse, compare, and commit across brands and price points.

02

UX / flow design

Designed navigation, product cards, collection flows, and cart actions around premium buying behavior.

03

Visual direction

Created a refined storefront language with strong contrast, clean spacing, and product-forward hero moments.

04

Build

Implemented a responsive ecommerce front end with Sanity CMS, brand filters, product grids, and mobile-first actions.

05

Trust layer

Added authenticity signals, pricing clarity, brand badges, and contact pathways to reduce purchase hesitation.

06

Launch

Published a premium digital storefront that positions Urbanity as a serious luxury footwear destination.

RESULTS

What changed after.

Where exact numbers were not available or public, the case study uses directional outcomes grounded in the product and business context.

KEY DECISIONS

What we chose on purpose.

Led with product imagery over decoration

Luxury footwear sells through visual credibility, so the interface lets products do the talking.

Structured brand navigation without overcomplicating it

Shoppers think in brands and styles, not abstract categories, so the IA follows that mental model.

Kept the cart and wishlist flows simple

High-value purchases need clarity and confidence, not complex checkout friction.

NEXT

What we would improve next.

Add richer product storytelling around materials, fit, authenticity, and care.

Introduce analytics for brand interest, wishlist behavior, and product-card engagement.

Expand merchandising around new drops, seasonal collections, and brand-led landing pages.
